FAQs

  • Why sorghum?

Nicknamed as "the maple syrup of the South", Sorghum is an all-natural sweetener made from juice of sweet sorghum cane plants. The nutrients found in sorghum make it a nutritional powerhouse, rich in vitamins and minerals like B vitamins, magnesium, potassium, phosphorus, iron, and zinc. It's also an excellent source of fiber, antioxidants, and protein.

Sorghum Cane Syrup is a wonderful flavor from America's past that is finding new life in a market where conventional processed sugars have been rightly vilified for contributing to an epidemic of unhealthiness. More and more consumers are looking for novel flavors that contribute to better habits for health and environment and Sorghum Cane Syrup is a unique ingredient that can provide just that. Sweetgrass Granola is proud to be the only commercial granola to provide this distinct ingredient to the market.
