Now Hiring Part-Time Bakery Associate!

Position Description

Sweetgrass Natural Foods is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and responsible part-time Bakery Associate to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is proactive, adaptable, and thrives in a hands-on, physical work environment. Flexibility in scheduling and the ability to maintain a positive attitude are essential to this role. Previous experience in food production or a bakery setting is beneficial but not required.

At Sweetgrass, we are deeply committed to sustainable agriculture and farming practices. We source ingredients directly from local farmers who share our passion for sustainability, ensuring that our products support both the environment and our community. Alongside producing Sweetgrass Granola, our team also co-packs, packages, and fulfills shipping orders for three other food entrepreneurs. This role will include making products for these brands as part of the weekly schedule.

We’re a small, down-to-earth group that enjoys a relaxed yet productive environment. Expect a workday filled with coffee breaks, friendly conversation, and an eclectic mix of music playing in the background to keep the day flowing. Our team values collaboration, hard work, and having a good time while we get things done.

We are looking for someone to work approximately 30 hours per week. Shifts start at 9 a.m. and typically ending around 4 p.m. Pay starts at $15.50 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the production of Sweetgrass Granola and other bakery items
  • Participate in the co-packing, packaging, and shipping of products for partner food entrepreneurs
  • Ensure accuracy in ingredient measurements and recipe execution
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace
  • Operate equipment safely and efficiently
  • Package finished products according to quality standards
  • Uphold health and safety protocols in all production activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support daily operations

Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stay active during shifts
  • Positive, team-oriented mindset

Preferred Skills and Qualities

  • Strong communication skills
  • Previous food or bakery experience is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Quick learner who can adapt to different tasks
  • Passion for sustainable food production and local business
